Dalayna's Law School Graduation Soiree

Last month I traveled to Vermont to witness my best friend graduate from Vermont Law School. I am so very proud of my friend, who I call my sister, and all that she has accomplished. To celebrate her many accomplishments, Dalayna’s parents threw her a reception at their private residence. Yours truly was in charge of the planning and prep, as Dalayna is quite busy these days studying for the Bar Exam. Dalayna envisioned a reception where she would be able to mingle with her guests and make use of her parent’s gorgeous outdoor space and dining room. I teamed up with my friend Ashley of Window’s Catering who worked closely with Dalayna and I in creating a versatile, delicious and super fun menu. Veronica, who is GLWE’s resident florist, created simple arrangements that we scattered throughout the house. Maryam of Maryam Flowers did an awesome job of incorporating Dalayna’s colors into a jaw dropping centerpiece that featured gold painted leaves! The guests enjoyed jazz and contemporary tunes from a drum, bass and keyboard trio.  One of my favorite menu items was the signature cocktail made with fresh mango puree (so refresing). Below are the first set of  images taken by none other than Geomyra Lewis Weddings and Event’s Event Assistant, Samika Roy. Enjoy!
